About the school
A co-educational day school on a five-acre campus in G-11/3, Islamabad, teaching 1,240 students from Playgroup through Grade 12.
A school built around knowing children well
Dewan School of Excellence was founded in 1998 by a group of five teachers who wanted a school in Islamabad where academic seriousness did not come at the cost of childhood. We began with 62 students in a rented house on Margalla Road. We now teach 1,240 on a purpose-built campus, and the founding idea has not changed.
The school is organised in three sections that share one site. Primary covers Playgroup to Grade 5, Middle covers Grades 6 to 8, and Senior School covers Grades 9 to 12, preparing candidates for the Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary School Certificate.
We are deliberately mid-sized. Large enough to run four science laboratories, eleven sports teams and a proper library; small enough that the Principal can name every child in the school and most of their siblings.
What we hold ourselves to
School at a glance
- No class larger than 22 in Primary or 25 in Senior School
- Written, individual reports at the end of each term — never auto-generated comments
- A published fee schedule with no mid-year additions
- Every teacher observed and supported twice a year
- A safeguarding policy that parents can read on request
